LCE Capabilities Exercise

Marines and Sailors assigned to Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response Africa, Logistics Combat Element 18.2, took part in a Capabilities Exercise in Sierra Del Retín, Spain, Aug. 20, 2018. The Marines of the LCE spent the week conducting the CAPEX in which they assembled a light-weight water purification system to create drinkable water, and set up field expedient showers. The CAPEX was meant to test the various expeditionary crisis-response capabilities of the SPMAGTF-CR-AF LCE.

The 13th MEU's Lifeline - CLB 13

Combat Logistics Battalion 13 has and will continue to be the Logistics Combat Element (LCE) for the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). The LCE, about 250 Marines and Sailors strong, provides combat support such as supply, maintenance, transportation, explosive ordnance disposal, military police, water purification and distribution, engineering, medical and dental services, fuel storage and distribution, and other services to the deployed MEU.
