Marines with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 261 landed a MV-22 Osprey onto a Dutch warship during an interoperability test conducted near Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C., June 12, 2015. The landing aboard the Karel Doorman, a warship with the Royal Netherlands Navy was the first MV-22 Osprey landing onto a Dutch ship. This test allowed the two units to assess their capabilities and their ability to integrate the two units.

A Day in the Life of Cpl. Novelly; II MEF Marine of the Year

Corporal Anthony Novelly, a collateral duty inspector with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 162, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, was awarded the II MEF Marine of the Year award, March 20, 2015. Novelly stood out above his peers and the Marines he competed against, throughout the selection process for the award, and received the award from Maj. Gen. William Beydler, the commanding general of II Marine Expeditionary Force.
