Recruits with Delta Company, First Recruit Training Battalion complete their first Marine Corps Martial Arts Program test to tan belt Dec. 20, 2018 on Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Ca. MCMAP is one of many graduation requirements recruits must overcome in order to obtain the title of United States Marine.

U.S. Marines assigned to Marine Corps Installations Pacific, Marine Corps Base Smedley D. Butler complete their Marine Corps Martial Arts Program culminating event Dec. 14, 2018 on Torii Station, Okinawa, Japan. The Marines completed the culminating event as part of their curriculum in attaining a higher level Marine Corps Martial Arts belt. MCMAP emphasizes the complete development of a professional warrior, and is a key component of the ethical warrior concept. MCMAP is designed to improve the warfighting capabilities of individual Marines and units, enhance Marines' self-confidence and esprit de corps, and foster the warrior ethos of the Corps.
