Marines from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 and Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 269 executed a spider forward arming and refueling point mission in Okinawa, Japan, October 28, 2015. The FARP mission facilitates small aircraft to operate longer, resupply in a shorter time frame and provide close air support more frequently. The event was part of Blue Chromite 2016. Because Blue Chromite is an amphibious training exercise that draws primarily from III Marine Expeditionary Force's training resources in Okinawa, participating units maintain a forward-deployed posture while eliminating travel costs. VMM-262 is with Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force. HMLA-269 is with MAG 36 under the Unit Deployment Program. Also available in high definition.

An end of course video production featuring the highlights of Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course 1-16 in Yuma, Ariz., from Sept. 6 to Oct. 25, 2015. WTI is a seven week training event hosted by Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) cadre, which emphasizes operational integration of the six functions of Marine Corps aviation in support of a Marine Air Ground Task Force. MAWTS-1 provides standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine aviation training and readiness and assists in developing and employing aviation weapons and tactics. Marine Medium Helicopter Training Squadron (HMMT) 164 transitioned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 164 during a redesignation ceremony aboard Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendlton, Calif., April. 9. HMMT-164 was the last squadron in the Marine Corps to fly the CH-46 Sea Knight, also referred to by Marines as a Phrog, and became the newest MV-22B Osprey squadron. Lt. Col. Gabriel Valdez relinquished command to Lt. Col. Eric Aschenbrenner during this ceremony.

Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members experienced the capabilities of the MV-22B Osprey firsthand during a visit to Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C., March 26, 2015.
