U.S. Marines and Sailors assigned to 3d Marine Division have conducted joint, multilateral exercises over the last year throughout the Indo-Pacific region, fostering enhanced cooperation with our foreign counterparts. The 3d Marine Division continues to operate as part of the Stand-In Force in the first island chain ready to secure, seize and defend key maritime terrain in order to deny and disrupt adversary actions in support of the Fleet, the Joint Force, and partnered and allied forces. U.S. Marines with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 167 participate in Distributed Aviation Operations Exercise (DAOEx) 24 at the U.S. Navy Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center on Andros Island, Bahamas, June 1-14, 2024. HMLA-167 supported DAOEx 24, which is designed to distribute command and control of aviation forces across echelons of command, pushing authorities to the lowest levels, while keeping forces moving between airfields and air sites.
