On October 9th 2017, motorcycle riders should be prepared to physically show their Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) approved Basic Rider Course (BRC) credentials to Camp Pendleton gate sentries. All motorcycle riders will be checked as they enter the base. A delay in presentation of the credentials to the sentry will effect traffic, so riders are encouraged to have their BRC card readily available along with photo I.D. Marines, with 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division trained in embassy reinforcement tactics Feb. 13-15 aboard Camp Upsher, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. The goal of the Continental U.S. Based Alert Force training exercise was to ensure a battalion-sized force could deploy and set up within a 96 hour time frame, and reorganize into a larger force if necessary. An alert force from Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa completed an unscripted casualty evacuation drill from their base of operations in Morón Air Base, Spain, Jan. 29, 2015.The unit is tasked with providing crisis response capabilities for Africa and is capable of assembling a force within six hours after receiving a mission. The unit launched a platoon of Marines aboard two MV-22 Ospreys to complete the mission. The Marines rapidly secured their landing site at the nearby Rota Air Base, Spain, and extracted the simulated casualty after less than 30 minutes on the ground. Interview: Capt.
