Army Sgt. Brendan Marrocco, a Staten Island native, was the first Iraq veteran to survive a quadruple amputation. Now, thanks to some help from Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. James Amos, and a team of highly skilled surgeons, Brendan has a new motivation, and new arms. Pfc. John Tucker brings us the story.

Marine veteran and double amputee, Sgt. Rob Jones, ran 31 marathons in 31 days in 31 different cities to raise money for multiple charities for wounded veterans from October 12, to November 11, 2017. Marines, vets, and allied service members participate in the 2015 Marine Corps Trials. The competition provides opportunities for the Marines to train as athletes, while increasing their strength so they can continue their military service or develop healthy habits for life outside the service. The Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment enables wounded, ill, or injured Marines to focus on their abilities and to find new avenues to thrive. The fifth annual Marine Corps Trials is being held at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 3-11. Sergeant Ricardo Ramirez, squad leader, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, discusses playing on the 5th Marine's football team. Ramirez, a native of Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, lost his hand during combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
