The Christmas spirit lights up at the 19th annual tree lighting

Families gather for the 19th annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Nov. 30, 2018. Among the Christmas lights, elves and holiday spirit in the air, the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Brass Band provided live music throughout the festivities. The celebration included activities such as a Christmas themed beanbag toss, holiday selfie station, a holiday cookie making station and reindeer antler ring toss. Santa Claus even made a special appearance for the children to come and tell him their Christmas wish list. This celebration is an event hosted by Marine Corps Community Services every year to kick off the Christmas spirit by bringing families together during the holiday season.

Townsend Bombing Range Hunt

Townsend Bombing Range invited local residents to hunt aboard the range Nov. 17-18. The hunters were assigned specfic hunting areas where blinds were already set up. Nearly 23 hunters attended the two day event. This opporunity allowed the local community to build bonds and learn about their neighbors at TBR.

Public private venture partners the Department of Defense with private companies in order to provide quality military family housing faster. Camp Pendleton has six housing districts built by Lincoln Military Housing and Hunt Military Communities. This product was created to provide amplifying and clarifying information regarding Public Private Venture to counter misinformation and minimize confusion among current and future base housing residents.
