Exercise Tiger Triumph REEL

U.S. Marines assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Sailors assigned to the amphibious transport dock USS Somerset (LPD 25) participate in Exercise Tiger TRIUMPH in Visakhapatnam and Kakinada, India, from March 18-31, 2024. Activities included visiting students at Andhra University for a community relations event and participating in a friendly sports competition day with Republic of India service members. Tiger TRIUMPH is a U.S.-India tri-service amphibious exercise focused on humanitarian assistance and disaster relief readiness and interoperability. March 2024 MARFORPAC Highlights

Throughout the month of March 2024, Pacific Marines were actively involved in various training and exercises, to include Iron Fist 24 and Cobra Gold 24, two large-scale annual exercises which further strengthen regional partnerships and operational effectiveness. Some of the training featured includes free-fall operations and room clearing training with the Royal Thai Marine Corps, bilateral flights between 1st Marine Aircraft Wing and the Republic of Korea Marine Air Group, and 3rd Marine Division live-fire exercises. Pacific Marines are consistently engaged with Allies and partners throughout the theater to improve mutual capabilities and interoperability in support of shared security objectives as well as promote a free and open Indo-Pacific. Exercise Katana Strike, Keen Sword Coming Soon

The U.S. Marine Corps conducted two concurrent large-scale bilateral exercises with allied forces across the first island chain from northern Japan and through the Philippines, from Oct. 1-14, 2022. More than 5,500 personnel participated in Resolute Dragon 22 in Hokkaido, Japan and in KAMANDAG 6 across Luzon, Batanes, and Palawan in the Philippines. Navy-Marine Corps Testimonials: Gunny Mike

The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society was founded in 1904 and has been aiding service members and their families ever since. The society provides financial assistance and education, as well as other programs and services, to members of the United States Navy and Marine Corps, their eligible family members, widows, and survivors. The Society also receives and manages donated funds to administer these programs and services. Their main goal is to help each person who comes to them get support for their immediate needs. Their long-term mission is to help Sailors and Marines become financially self-sufficient by learning how to better manage their personal finances and prepare for unplanned expenses. The MCAS Cherry Point NMCRS provided over 1,000 clients with $569,035 in financial assistance in 2017. This assistance ranged from basic living expenses and transportation expenses to family emergency and funeral expenses, with much more in between. The relief society is comprised mostly of volunteers who work daily to give back to service members in need. Whether a Marine needs budget counseling or a Sailor needs a home visit from a nurse, the volunteers at MCAS Cherry Point NMCRS worked a tireless 14,878 hours in the past year providing assistance to our Marines and Sailors aboard the Cherry Point air station.
