The Fourth of July, also known as Independence Day, is a holiday in the United States celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Independence Day highlights the values that the country was founded upon and honors the Americans who made sacrifices to defend the United States after the 13 colonies seceded from Great Britain.
