Marines with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, conduct fast rope training from CH-46 Sea Knight helicopters, Oct. 9, 2013. Footage includes slow motion sequences of helicopters. Fast roping is a technique that troops use to enter an area from a helicopter by descending from a rope. It enables Marines to quickly reach an area without landing an aircraft. Corporal Michael Toomey received the Bronze Star Medal with a Combat V for valor for actions during a deployment to Afghanistan with 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment. Toomey lead an ambush against an insurgent machine gun team. His aggressive assault caused the enemy to flee and give up the fight against the Marines.

Sgt. William Stacey, a squad leader who served with Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device for valor during a ceremony here Feb. 15. Stacey was killed during combat operation Jan. 31, 2012, in Helmand province, Afghanistan. (Split Audio). Location: Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
