Exercise Constant Vigilance was held Sept. 21st through the 24th on Marine Corps Base Camp Butler in Okinawa, Japan. The annual training exercise enhance the safety of service members, families and areas surrounding the base by allowing Marines to practice for crisis events. It is training required throughout the Department of Defense.

Marines with 10th Marine Regiment maneuvered the Battle Skills Training Center endurance course during the unit's Super Squad Challenge aboard Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, June 30, 2015. The course required the Marines to take on numerous water and obstacle-based challenges at the conclusion of a rigorous nine-mile hike to maintain individual readiness and compete for the best time in teams.

U.S. Marine Cpl. Roman Fernandez’s boxing background helps him succeed as a Marine and team leader with Lima Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Currently deployed aboard the USS Essex (LHD 2) with the 15th MEU, he coaches Marines within his company several times a week. After the deployment, Fernandez hopes to finish up his enlistment with the Marine Corps Boxing Team.

Spouses of active duty military members participate in multiple events designed to give the spouses a 'hands on' experience in the daily life of their significant other April 24 on Okinawa, Japan.
