Marines were recognized at an Arizona State University football game against the Southern Methodist University during Marine Week Phoenix, Sept.12, 2015. The Marine Corps' Silent Drill Platoon demonstrated the corps' tradition of close order drill during the half-time show to showcase their unique discipline and professionalism.

Marine Week Phoenix kicks off with a ceremony at Civic Space Park in downtown Phoenix. The event included performances by the Silent Drill Platoon, Marine Band San Diego and martial arts instructors from the Marine Corps's Martial Arts Center of Excellence.

The Marines from 8th & I, consisting of the Silent Drill Platoon, "The Commandant's Own" Drum and Bugle Corps and the Marine Corps Color Guard, wowed Southwest Georgia again with their flawless performance and awe-inspiring showmanship on Schmid Field, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, March 20, in front of scores of spectators.

The United States Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment, consisting of "The Commandant's Own" United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, the United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon and the Official Color Guard of the Marine Corps performed the Battle Color Ceremony. Each year the highly skilled unit of 130 Marines travels worldwide to demonstrate the discipline, professionalism and "Esprit de Corps" of United States Marines.

The Battle Color Detachment, consisting of the Silent Drill Platoon and "the Commandant's Own" Drum and Bugle Corps, performed aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., March 13. The Silent Drill Platoon and Drum and Bugle Corps are both the epitome of Marine Corps unity and attention to detail.

The Battle Color Detachment, from Marine Barracks Washington, D.C. (“the Oldest Post of the Corps”), performed for an estimated crowd of 1,500 people on Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Calif., March 10. The BCD is comprised of the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, also known as “The Commandant’s Own,” the Silent Drill Platoon and the Marine Corps Color Guard. “The Commandant’s Own” performs contemporary and traditional marching music with precision drill movements. The Silent Drill Platoon executes precision drill with fixed bayonets atop M1 rifles, weighing approximately 10.5 pounds. The Marines go through their rifle maneuvers entirely without verbal commands. The Marine Corps Color Guard carries the only official Battle Colors of the Marine Corps, with 54 streamers displaying the military service, expeditions, and campaigns Marines have participated in, from the American Revolution to today. Hundreds of High Desert residents, from school children to disabled veterans, traveled to MCLB Barstow to witness the prestigious ceremony - one of hundreds the BCD performs each year. The Marines visited with members of the audience after the stirring performance.
