Cpl. Trevor Cron keeps Marines and Sailors on the USNS Millinocket fed during their voyage to Cambodia, Oct. 28, 2016. Service members embarked on the USNS Millinocket were on their way to participate in Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 16. CARAT 2016 is a nine-country, bilateral exercise series between the United States and Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Timor-Leste. This phase of CARAT focuses on partnerships between the forces of the US and Cambodia, and Brunei. As the premier naval engagement in South and Southeast Asia, CARAT provides a regional venue to address shared maritime security priorities, enhance interoperability among participation forces, and develop key relationships that will serve partner nations for many years to come. Food Service Specialists with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force, compete for the annual Maj. Gen. Staff Sgt. Julia Edwards, operations chief, G-4, Headquarters Regiment, 1st Marine Logistics Group. is also the CEO and founder of From Discovery to Recovery Women's Center in Oceanside, Calif. Edwards was a victim of sexaul assault and opened the center in August of 2013 to help women get away from abusive situations and become advocates for others.
