Battle Color Detachment, Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., perform during the Battle Color Ceremony at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, March 11. For many of the Marines, preforming at the depot meant returning to the place where they first learned the fundamentals of drill.

The Battle Color Detachment performed during a ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., March 10. The detachment is a ceremonial unit featured the Silent Drill Platoon, the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and the Marine Corps Official Color Guard.
