U.S. Marine Corps Master Sgt. Cory Paskvan, training chief, 2nd Recon Battalion, and Christopher May, founder, Brother Recon, reflect on what recon means to them. This year marks the 10th annual Recon Challenge. Come out and observe recon Marines from around the Marine Corps push themselves physically and mentally through the most challenging obstacles on May 17th, 2018. Marines with Force Reconnaissance Company, 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, trained with long rifles at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. Jan. 12, 2018. The Marines ran through various courses of fire with the precision weapon systems in order to ensure every Marine in the company was proficient in shooting and maintaining the rifles. The courses of fire included static shooting, as well as engaging targets from different obstacles and barriers to emulate operating in urban environments and dynamic situations. Marines with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion honed their skills during pre-deployment training at Fort Stewart, Ga, Nov. 28 – Dec. 15.
