I MIG Activates I MEF Support Battalion

Marines and Sailors with I Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group attended the I MEF Support Battalion activation ceremony at Camp Pendleton, Calif., April 11, 2018. During the ceremony, Lt. Col. William Gorsuch, the commanding officer of MSB, uncased the colors of the unit, which signified the birth of the newest unit in the Marine Corps. The ceremony also featured remarks from Col. Larry Hinkle, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, with 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, completes a cross country walk at Marine Coprs Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Nov. 3, 2016. Hinkle, walked from Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to Camp Pendleton in efforts to raise awareness that non-profit organizations exist to help veterans after having served in the military. VMA-513 Marines Return from Deployment

Yuma-based Marines with Marine Attack Squadron 513 return to Marine Corps Air Station Yuma June 3 after a six-month deployment with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. Corporals Course

Corporals course is meant to provide Marines with the basic leadership skills as NCOs, a chance to learn war-fighting tactics, and further enhance their understanding and embodiment of the Marine Corps’ core values of honor, courage and commitment. Marine sergeant Daniel Hernandez is a corporal’s course instructor who has lead over 40 Marines through this training. Part of the training consists of shooting table three on the range and executing military operations in urban terrain. Once the marines have completed the course they will have learned better communication skills, have a fundamentally sound understanding of leadership traits and the ability to apply operational risk management principles. A Marine knows that no matter the circumstances the mission must be completed to the best of their ability.

Package of a humanitarian assistance survey team, consisting of 10 Marines from III Marine Expeditionary Force, departed from here for Bangkok, Thailand, to assess the flooded areas and the magnitude of assistance needed Oct. 15. The role of the Marine Corps during any humanitarian assistance and disaster response is to rapidly respond with critically needed capabilities to deliver assistance and relief to the area requiring immediate aid.
