U.S., Thai and Republic of Korea Marines participated in Jungle Survival training Feb. 8, 2016 in Latowan, Thailand. The Marines are part of exercise Cobra Gold 16. CG 16 is the 35th iteration of Cobra Gold which provides a joint and combined task force venue to maintain readiness, while emphasizing security and humanitarian cooperation in the Pacific .

On, 31 January 2016 Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469 participate in Operation Scorpion Fire at the ranges of Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. Marines with both tiltrotor and fixed-wing squadrons participate in this annual exercise, which provides a realistic environment for ground units in needs of close air support. Marines with 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company and 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion came together for "Scorpion Fire," a training exercise outside of Yuma, Ariz.
