This is a documentary production on the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) supporting Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in New York. This production has been created using footage compiled from CNN, royalty-free music, and interviews from the citizens of New York. The Marines and Sailors from the 26th MEU helped local residents by removing debris left from the hurricane and provided assistance with anything they could, including pumping water from heavily flooded areas and helping clear away collapsed housing. The 26th MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force. The MEU is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force capable of conducting amphibious operations, crisis response, and limited contingency operations. The 26th MEU is slated to deploy in 2013.
