More Information
An F/A-18C Hornet performs an arrested landing at Clark Air Field, Pampanga, Republic of the Philippines, Oct. 2 as part of Amphibious Landing Exercise 2014. The arresting equipment is a mechanical system used to rapidly decelerate an aircraft as it lands. The recurrence of PHIBLEX, now in its 30th year, demonstrates the commitment of the U.S. and Republic of the Philippines to mutual security and their long-time partnership. The aircraft is with Marine Fighter Squadron 232, currently assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force, as part of the Marine Corps’ unit deployment program. Soundbites from Cpl. James Lubbers, Tech Sgt. Joselito Morales. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Tyler Mitchell/RELEASED)
