Whether it’s sending a care package or writing a letter, there are many ways to show support to our troops away from home. Spc Marquetta Gibson introduces us to one mother who says her job is never done. Suggested tag:Carole Montgomery decision to tour in Korea was to honor her father’s military service during the Korean War.Reporter:Soldiers and civilian’s gather at the hilltop community club on camp walker to enjoy a night of laughter delivered by the national mom’s comedy tour. Carole Montgomery:It’s got to be horrible not to be able to see your family for a while, that’s why I’m national mom. I’m like you need a hug I’m there for you, I’ll make sure you’re wearing clean underwear, I’ll make sure you’re eating your vegetables, I’m a mom, I’m going to take care of you.Reporter:Carole Montgomery has so far produced eleven tours for armed forces entertainment, and she understands that when you perform for a diverse crowd, that there should be something for everybody.Carole Montgomery:If you don’t like me you’re going to Fran, if you don’t like Fran you’re going to like Jay, if you don’t like Jay you’re going like Jim; because sometimes you go to comedy shows and you’re like they all talked about the same stuff, that doesn’t happen in this show. Reporter:Carole has been entertaining for over thirty years, but it wasn’t until 2010 when her own child left the nest, that she realized she wasn’t ready to give up mothering, and combined her love for comedy with being a universal mom for our troops. Carole Montgomery:I consider this my life work now; i want to make soldiers, all military laugh. So if i can come and talk to you and make you laugh, and let you just have that release just for the two hours that the show happens then I’ve done my job. It’s the greatest job in the world!Reporter:Spc marquetta gibson, camp walker, korea. Rt: 00;01;19;20Font info:00;00;02;00 spc marquetta gibson, reporting00;00;11;03 carole montgomerry, comedian
