Sentinel Surveillance Testing (SST) is designed to break the chain of disease transmission by identifying those individuals who are asymptomatic carriers. As part of the COVID-19 pandemic response plan the Marine Corps has instituted SST and the Naval Branch Health Clinic aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany is postured to meet the requirement and has begun testing. This LOGCOM Look explains SST and what you can expect if you are selected for participation.

U.S. Marines with Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Platoon, Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, conduct Exercise Habu Sentinel on Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 9-13, 2019. Exercise Habu Sentinel afforded CBRN Defense Platoon the opportunity to conduct progressive responses based off of intelligence feedback from conditions on the battlefield. U.S. Marines and soldiers and from the Republic of Georgia join forces for a pre-deployment training during a Mission Rehearsal Exercise at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, Hohenfels, Germany.
