Black Sea Rotational Force 15 sustains their skills before Platinum Lion 15 in the Novo Selo training area, Bulgaria, April 1-4, 2015. This is the second iteration of Platinum Lion 15, a two-week NATO exercise with Bulgaria, Romania and U.S. Marines to integrate combined-arms, patrolling, and squad tactics to a multinational force. Exercise Summer Shield 12 demostrated and improved NATO’s combined-arms capabilities between Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Germany, Canada and the United States during the month of March, 2015, in Camp Adazi, Latvia. Marines from Black Sea Rotational Force 15, strategically postured in Mihail Kogalniceanu, Romania, contributed approximately 150 Marines to the largest Summer Shield exercise in the program’s existance.

Sergeants Major, Master Gunnery Sergeants and Single Marine Program represenatives from throughout 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing traveled to Carlsbad Lagoon, Calif., for a day on the water as an introduction to a Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) program called Operation Adrenaline Rush, Sept. 17.

Operation Atlantic Resolve shows the American commitment to our NATO allies and builds collective security in Eastern Europe. Continuous exercises are Marine Forces Europe’s dedication to enduring peace and stability on the continent and shows that U.S. commitment to meeting Article 5 NATO obligations is an unwavering priority. Marine–led training engagements support EUCOM’s objectives by enhancing previously-scheduled exercises to maintain partnerships and strategic capacity with allied and partner nations. This action comes at the request of host-nation governments and is indicative of America’s deep-seated commitment to security, stability and solidarity in Europe. Also available in high definition.

U.S. Marines and Norwegian allies conduct a Maritime Prepositioning offload during a pre-planned Single Ship Movement and offload of military equipment from a Maritime Prepositioning Force ship in the Trøndelag region of Norway. U.S. Marines from 2nd Marine Logistics Group out of Camp Lejeune, NC, in coordination with their Norwegian counterparts, are modernizing some of the equipment currently stored within six caves as a part of the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program-Norway by placing approximately 350 containers of gear and nearly 400 pieces of heavy rolling stock into the storage caves. Specific equipment which will greatly increase the program's readiness includes M1A1 Main Battle Tanks, Tank Retrievers, Armored Breeching Vehicles, Amphibious Assault Vehicles, Expanded Capacity Vehicle (ECV) Gun Trucks and several variants of the MTVR 7-1/2 ton trucks. Planning for this equipment refresh began in the spring of 2010. Marines and contractors from Blount Island Command in Jacksonville, Fla. and Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa are also in Norway to ensure the operation is conducted in a safe and timely manner.
