U.S. Marines and sailors with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa are teaching small-unit infantry tactics to Benin National Surveillance Police students in Cotonou, Benin. At the request of the Benin government and coordination with the local U.S. embassy, Marines and sailors are providing the National Surveillance Police the tools and capabilities to help counter illicit trafficking on the country's borders.

U.S. Marines and sailors with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa taught basic infantry skills and Marine Corps martial arts techniques to policemen with Benin National Surveillance Police in Cotonou, Benin, Aug. 31 to Sept. 4, 2015. At the request of the Benin government and coordination with the local U.S. embassy, Marines and sailors are providing the National Surveillance Police the tools and capabilities to help counter illicit trafficking at the country’s borders.

Approximately 15 Marines and Sailors assigned to Theater Security Cooperation Team-Six, Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa conducted a patrol exercise with more than 40 Tanzanian Park Rangers aboard the Selous Game Reserve in Matambwe, Tanzania, March 24-26, 2015. The exercise concluded a four-week counter illicit trafficking training course, combining the infantry skills taught by the service members. Includes sound bites from 1st Lt. The service members are teaching the Park Rangers infantry tactics such as patrolling, weapons handling, land navigation and patrol base operations to help counter illicit trafficking in the region.
