Marines with Black Sea Rotational Force and service members from Bulgaria, Romania, the United Kingdom and Albania kicked- off Exercise Platinum Lion 15-3, July 6, 2015 at the Novo Selo Training Area. The two-week training exercise is designed to strengthen the partnerships between the NATO nations and share knowledge to help improve their military skill sets. Also available in high definition.

U.S. Marines ready to train with European partners

Marines with Black Sea Rotational Force perform weapons sustainment training to prepare for a multinational training schedule during their deployment. BSRF has more than 17 exercises planned in the Eastern European area of responsibility during their rotation. BSRF is a biannual rotation which acts as a Security Cooperation Marine Air-Ground Task Force through conducting military-to-military engagements and enabling the continuation of regional stability, increasing interoperability, and building and maintaining relationships with allied and partner nations.

U.S., Bulgarian, Romanian Forces Overcome Mountains

British Royal Marine Commandos, Romanian Mountain Brigade soldiers and U.S. Marines with Black Sea Rotational Force conduct the culminating three-day final exercise during Exercise Platinum Lynx, May 12-14, 2015. The British Royal Marine Commandos conducted reconnaissance of the area in the Carpathian Mountain Range early that morning to support the movement of U.S. Marines into an assault position while the Romanian soldiers conducted the support by fire. Roughly 45 Romanians, 25 U.S. Marines and 13 British Royal Marine Commandos participated in the exercise.

Marines and sailors with the Black Sea Rotational Force teamed up with Romanian IAR-330L Puma helicopter pilots to conduct a casualty evacuation training aboard Babadag Training Area, Romania, May 5, 2015.
