Vice Admiral Robert Thomas has spent the last two years working closely with the people and government of Japan to solidify the bonds of friendship between U.S. and Japanese forces. Petty Officer Kirk Putnam says he now passes the mantle of Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet on to Vice Admiral Joseph Aucoin.

The Marines who make up The Center For Naval Aviation Technical Training Marine Unit Detachment Little Rock were recognized on November 13, 2018 by the governor and Rear Adm. Brian Fort, a Little Rock native, for their volunteer service in the Little Rock-area communities. The Marines had dedicated more than 6000 hours to volunteer services in just one year.
