The holiday season is a time of year that brings families and friends together. The U.S. Army garrison on Yongsan hosts an annual event, which reminds families about the true meaning of Thanksgiving. Army sergeant Frank Sanchez reports.

U.S. Marine Corps Sgt.Maj. Dennis M. Bradley, 3rd Marine Division sergeant major, talks about the caliber of Marines that have served in 3rd Marine Division. In observance of Vietnam Veterans Day he speaks about Gen. Lewis Walt, a former commander of 3rd Marine Division. Gen. Walt received a Silver Star while serving with the First Raider Battalion in Tulagi, was awarded two Navy Crosses during WWII, commanded III Marine Amphibious Force and served as the first four star General as Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. The library offers more than 25,000 print volumes, 215,000 e-books and 5,000 audiobooks. Alongside the reading materials, the library has an on-site café to meet your coffee and snack needs while completing homework or unit training utilizing their free WiFi. Other Marine Warrior Library services include video game console and game rentals; faxing, scanning and printing; music downloads; television series and movie rentals; 3D printing and many others. Maj. David R. Dixon the current operations officer for 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Forces Reserve, teamed up with former Disney artist Phil Jones to write the military children’s book “Goodnight Marines.” The book seeks to help Marines connect with their children and teach them about Marine Corps heritage.

Service members and their families enjoy a day of free comic books and cosplay during the Super Duper Cosplay Contest June 21 at Camp Hansen.
