Tango tango tango: taser training

Marines and Sailors experience the jolt of 50-thousand volts course through their bodies during nonlethal weapons training aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), underway in the Pacific Ocean, Sept. 14, 2017. Nonlethal weapons instructors with Combat Logistics Battalion-31’s Military Police Platoon trained Marines and Sailors from across the 31st MEU to use Tasers and other nonlethal weapons during security operations. A critical component of nonlethal weapons training is “exposure,” when trainees feel and experience the effects of nonlethal weapons, including Tasers. CLB-31 provides logistical support to all elements of the 31st MEU. The 31st MEU partners with the Navy's Amphibious Squadron 11 to form the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, providing a cohesive blue-green team capable of accomplishing a variety of missions across the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. U.S. Marines and Sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) conduct a long-range non-combatant evacuation operation (NEO) at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. 31st MEU Embarks for Spring Patrol 2014

The "blue/green" team of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and Amphibious Squadron 11 embarks more than 2,200 Marines and Sailors and all of their gear as it prepares to depart for the regularly scheduled Spring Patrol of the Asia-Pacific region. Over the period of four days, the 31st MEU will join their Navy counterparts on the three ships of the USS Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group. More than 500 tons of supplies and vehicles are spread across the three ships, with 250 tons loaded onto the USS BHR alone. In a crisis, the Marines and Sailors are able to load the same personnel and equipment in 24-48 hours. Includes sound bites from Gunnery Sgt. 31st MEU Celebrates Independence Day At Sea

Marines and Sailors of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit flooded the flight deck of the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) for sunshine, music, games and food during a 4th of July celebration. Called a "Steel Beach Picnic," food service Marines and Sailors prepared more than 1,300 burgers, 800 pieces of barbecued chicken, and 800 hot dogs for the 31st MEU and ship's crew. Japanese soldiers integrate with 31st MEU during Fall Patrol 2012

Integrating with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit's Battalion Landing Team, soldiers with Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force conducted an amphibious raid exercise alongside their Company F., BLT 2/1 counterparts here in Guam. The training evolution was part of the JGSDF's integration period with the MEU during the Marines' Fall Patrol deployment throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Following these integration events, distinguished members of both nations' militaries participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the South Pacific Memorial Peace Park, Sept. 23. 31st MEU Assists in USS Bonhomme Richard Replenishment at Sea

As the USS Bonhomme Richard conducts a replenishment at sea operation, the Marines and Sailors of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit aid in the transport and handling of over 250 pallets of food and other supplies. The ship also refueled on the move through the use of suspended hoses connected between the BHR and the replenishment ship, allowing the Navy to restock on vital supplies without taking the time to dock in port.
