Norwegian Army soldiers offload equipment and vehicles in preparation for Exercise Cold Response 16 in Fiborgtangen, Norway, Feb. 21, 2016. The equipment will be shipped to various training areas throughout Norway to support the exercise. Cold Response is a combined training event bringing together 13 NATO allies and partner nations and approximately 15,000 troops in order to strengthen transnational bonds and combined abilities to oppose global threats.

U.S., Norwegian Forces Execute Stinger Live-Fire

U.S. Marines with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade conducted a live stinger missle shoot alongside Norwegian Army soliders at Ørland, Norway, Feb. 24 and 25, 2016. The nations are executing integration training in preparation for Exercise Cold Response 16 in March. Cold Response is a combined, joint exercise bringing together 13 NATO allies and partnered nations and approximately 15,000 troops in order to build partnerships and enhance abilities to respond to global crises.

Combined Arms and Combined Forces: U.S. Marines and Norwegian Army Take to the Firing Line

U.S. Marines with Combined Arms Company conduct a live-fire training exercise using M1A1 Abrams Tanks at Rena, Norway, Feb. 18, 2016. Several Norwegian Army soldiers acted as safety officers for the range, maximizing efficiency and safety throughout the operation. In the weeks leading up to Exercise Cold Response 16, U.S. and Norwegian forces are conducting bilateral training in order to enhance the U.S. service members' warfighting capabilities in cold weather environments.

Marines and sailors with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade conduct combat casualty care training with Norwegian soldiers at Rena, Norway, Feb. 17, 2016. The U.S. service members make up the shock trauma squad, which is designed to provide expedient medical care to wounded troops in a field setting. Both nations will participate in Exercise Cold Response 16, which brings together 12 NATO allies and partner nations and more than 16,000 troops in order to build joint crisis response capabilities in cold weather environments.
