U.S. Marines with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response- Africa conduct fast rope training from MV-22B Ospreys aboard Naval Station Rota, Spain, Mar. 10, 2016. Fast roping techniques can be used for rapid insertion onto a location, such as a rooftop or ship's deck, without having to land the aircraft. The ability to enter a landing zone by rope increases the operational capabilities of the SPMAGTF-CR-AF and offers yet another method for Marines to complete missions in the region.
