The Japan Ground Self Defense Force sent five observers to Jungle Warfare Training Center, Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan, to observe U.S. Marine Corps tactics, May 19, 2016. JWTC is a training area U.S. Marines use to learn the skills to shoot, move and communicate in a jungle environment. The JGSDF is considering joining the Marines on the training base so that the two forces can work together effectively in a jungle terrain.

Military bands from the U.S., Japan and the Republic of Korea perform at the Nippon Budokan Arena, Tokyo, Nov. 12-16 as part of the Japan Self-Defense Force Marching Band Festival.
