Marines assigned to Marine Air Support Squadron 1 participated in the annual Chieftain run at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Nov. 16-17, 2016. MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR, Calif., (Aug. 16, 2016) Marines with Security Forces Platoon, I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group (I MHG), execute a mass-casualty drill during I Marine Expeditionary Force Large Scale Exercise. The priority of the platoon was to secure the perimeter and transport the casualties to the first aid station to get medically treated by hospital corpsmen. Large Scale Exercise 2016 (LSE-16) simulates the planning, deployment and combat operations of a Marine Expeditionary Force level composed of more than 50,000 members and a partner country, while working with coalition forces. Marines and Sailors with Combat Logistics Battalion 5 and 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, conducted a mass casualty simulation drill during Integrated Training Exercise 2-16 aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., Feb. 10, 2016. The drill began with taking hostile indirect-fire, resulting in multiple casualties with severe wounds. It challenged Marines and Sailors on their ability to react and work together to triage and treat patients accordingly.
