Mexican service members conduct a tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel training mission aboard San Clemente Island during the Southern California portion of the Rim of the Pacific 2016. Personnel from the Mexican navy flew from the ship, located the simulated pilots and returned with them to the ship for medical care. Mexican and Republic of Korea Marines participate in a weapons training evolution as part of Rim of the Pacific 2012. Approximately 2,200 personnel from 9 nations are participating in RIMPAC 12 as part of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force 3, Combined Force Land Component Command.
