More than 50 Marines with 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing cycled through weapons qualifications during an M240 Bravo machine gun, M249 Squad Automatic Weapon and M2 Browning .50 caliber machine gun range at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Aug. 29-30, 2016. The exercise allowed Marines to re-familiarize themselves with the weapons and qualify on them. The primary missions of the battalion are to provide low altitude ground-to-air weapon support and provide ground security for air bases.
