Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany officials remember the tornado that struck the installation Sunday, January 22, 2017. The tornado touched down at the Southwest corner of the base, carving a path right through the heart of the installation’s industrial area. The National Weather Service rated the tornado an EF3, with estimated peak winds of 150 miles per hour. Fortunately, there was no loss of life or reports of injury.

An EF3 tornado touched down on Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany carving a path of destruction in the warehouse district, damaging structures, military vehicles, downed power lines and leaving the landscape strewn with broken trees, Jan. 22.

In 2013, U.S. and Philippine Forces conducted disaster relief operations in the Philippines during Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
