Camp Pendleton Memories of 2016

In 2016, elements of the Second Marine Division (2d MARDIV) have been deployed across the globe as a multi-role, expeditionary ground combat force. This film gives you a glimpse into where the Marines and Sailors of the Follow Me Division have been and continue to serve. As it has been so aptly said, "The sun never sets on the Second Marine Division".

Marines and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members participated in a bilateral exchange and observation exercise October 6-8 on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan. The exercise allowed the Marines and JGSDF to coordinate deployment of bilateral forces within Okinawa.

Chemical Biological Incident Response Force, CBIRF, conducted joint training with the Fire Department of New York at the FDNY Fire Academy, Randall's Island, New York, Sept. 12- 16, 2016. CBIRF Marines and sailors participated in several lane training exercises including ropes training, vehicle extrication, medical and technical rescue training in confined spaces, urban technical rescue techniques, hazardous materials handling and more. The 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Band performed in their outstanding fall concert at the Two Rivers Theater and Events Center aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Oct. 2, 2016. Marines with Marine Rotational Force – Darwin endure a French Armed Forces Nautical Commando Course at Quartier Gribeauval, New Caledonia, Aug. 15 to Sept. 1, 2016. This marks the first U.S. forces ever to complete the course.
