Amphibious Assault School Battalion located in Camp Pendleton, Calif., is the standard entry-level training unit responsible for bringing AAV officers, crewman and mechanics to the Marine Air Ground Task Force. Upon graduation from the school, Marines will be sent to various units all throughout the Marine Corps with the purpose of continuing the tradition of amphibious readiness. Marines with 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion fired the Mk154 Mine Clearance Launcher aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 19, 2015, as part of a qualification for the weapon system. During the exercise, the unit fired six inert line charges to prepared themselves for future employment of the system.
