Marines ready themselves to compete with teams from all fives services in the rugby championship in Glendale, Colorado, August 25-27, 2017.

On Sept. 11, 2017 U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force Darwin played a rugby match against the Darwin Stray Cats Rugby Club to honor and remember the lives lost during the terrorist attacks on 9/11. The match has become an annual event to commemorate the friendships made during a rugby match that took place between U.S. Marine and sailors with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Stray Cats on September 11, 2001. U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force Darwin played a friendly basketball exhibition against a Northern Territory team last Saturday. While in Darwin, the Marines are committed to serving and engaging in the local community and will continue to make an impact when available.
