Marines with Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment conducted a direct fire drill with M777 A2 howitzers on Camp Lejeune, N.C. Dec. 4, 2017. The M777 is an indirect fire weapon used to support troops with a myriad of fires from a long distance including high explosives, illumination to identify enemies at night and smoke to conceal friendly troop movement on the battlefield.
