Seventy-six years ago, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, prompted America's entry into World War II. Each year on Dec. 7, Americans honor those who died in the attack that killed 2,403 Sailors, Marines, Soldiers and civilians. Nearly half the casualties occurred on the USS Arizona, where 1,177 of the 2,512-man crew perished. In total eighteen U.S. Navy ships were sunk or run aground and 188 American aircraft were destroyed with nearly as many damaged during the surprise attack. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Marines with the Warfighter Express Service Team, Combat Logistics Detachment 5, Special Purpose MAGTF - Crisis Response - Central Command went to forward locations in the U.S. Central Command area of operations to provide personal high demand items, postal services and cash dispersing to Marines in forward locations.

During week nine, recruits are put on working parties around the depot, experience what it is like to patrol areas at night and undergo a series commander's inspection.

The Transformation is a series that follows each week of recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. During week two, recruits meet their drill instructors for the first time, learn Marine Corps Core Values and are introduced to the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.
