Navy Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Ralph Bellamour, talks about basic life-saving skills taught at the Combat Lifesaver Course at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 1, 2017. Bellamour, from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, is a tactical combat casualty care instructor with the Tactical Medical Simulation Center, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Bellamour describes his experience as a first responder during the 2010 Haiti earthquake and how it influenced his decision to join the Navy.

Individuals attending the 48th Marine Corps Marathon tell their story of resiliency and what it means to run the marathon in Arlington, Virginia on October 27th, 2023. The marathon is a 26.2 mile race that draws roughly 20,000 participants, more than 2,200 Marines and Sailors, and 1,500 civilian volunteers. Marines complete Hurricane Matthew relief mission

Marines with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command provided humanitarian assistance and disaster relief efforts to Haiti as part of Joint Task Force Matthew. By the time the mission ended Oct. 19, service members with Joint Task Force Matthew delivered more than 603,000 pounds of emergency supplies to Haiti in support of the U.S. Agency for International Development's relief mission. U.S. Marines assigned to 4th Civil Affairs Group conducted civil military operations in Haiti during Continuing Promise 15 from Sept. 1, 2015 to Sept. 15, 2015. Continuing Promise is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored and U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet-conducted deployment to conduct civil-military operations including humanitarian-civil assistance, subject matter expert exchanges, medical, dental, veterinary and engineering support and disaster response to partner nations and to show U.S. support and commitment to Central and South America and the Caribbean.
