One Shot, One Kill.Marines participated in the United States Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition-Far East Dec. 1-15 aboard Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. "The coolest thing about coming to Okinawa and helping the Marines learn out here is you endure all kinds of weather and environments," said Staff Sgt. Stephen Ferguson, a small arms weapons instructor with the Marine Corps Shooting Teams. "As you're competing it teaches you that you can do a lot more than you think with a lot less. So, shooting pistol one-handed while carrying an ammunition can, or dragging a dummy in 15 to 20 mile per hour winds and rain, is pretty environmentally challenging. But if you ever have to do this in actual combat you'll have the ability and confidence to be able to achieve it. This training definitely advances the combat effectiveness of Marines."
