MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – U.S. Marines assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit participate in a relief and appointment ceremony on May 4, 2018. During the ceremony Sgt. Maj. Brandon C. Hall relinquished his post to Sgt. Maj. Charles N. Bell as the sergeant major of the 11th MEU. Hall served as sergeant major for the 11th MEU from August of 2016 to May of 2018. MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- Sgt. Maj. Brandon C. Hall retires from the Marine Corps after 29 years of service on May 4, 2018. Hall joined the Marine Corps in 1989 as a field artillery cannoneer and later served as sergeant major for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit from August of 2016 to May of 2018. (Video by Cpl. MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - Soldiers with the Western Army Infantry Regiment, Japan Ground Self Defense Force and Marines with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit conducted various training events throughout exercise Iron Fist 2018, in an effort to enhance bilateral interoperability between the United States and Japan. Exercise Iron Fist is an annual bilateral training exercise where U.S. and Japanese service members train together and share technique, tactics and procedures to improve their combined operational capabilities.
