More Information
Mother's Day is a holiday that is celebrated by honoring mothers around the United States. Anna Jarvis, the "mother" of Mother's Day, first celebrated the holiday in 1908 when she held a memorial for her mother at St. Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. The holiday was made official when Woodrow Wilson signed a proclimation designating Mother's Day as a national holiday. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Sgt. Hector de Jesus)
