Marine Corps Community Services invited families from the local and U.S. communities to the annual Reach Out event at the Butler Officers’ Club June 2 aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan.

The Marine Corps Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory program, MCO 1754.4B, for Marines with families members with exceptional needs. The primary purpose of the EFMP is to ensure the continuum of care for eligible family members by identifying families with special needs and maximizing the provision of medical, educational, and local services. MCB Quantico EFMP is the East Coast Regional Office which provides family support services to Quantico MCB, Europe, Africa, and Marines stations on I&I and Specialty Duty East of the Mississippi.

The Exceptional Family Member Program hosted Making Waves, a pool event for families that have children with special medical or educational needs aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Feb. 3, 2017. Making Waves gave families the opportunity to let loose and have a fun day at the pool. Activities included a ring toss, rafting, floating lessons and a family free swim.
