Ret. Staff Sgt. Danielle Pothoof is competing in swimming, cycling, track, wheel chair basketball, and sitting volleyball during the 2018 Warrior Games.

The 2018 Marine Corps Trials took place at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune March 15-24. The Marine Corps Trials promotes recovery and rehabilitation through adaptive sport participation and develops camaraderie among recovering service members (RSMs) and veterans. It is an opportunity for RSMs to demonstrate their achievements and serves as the primary venue to select Marine Corps participants for the DoD Warrior Games.

The wheelchair basketball competition took place March 22, 2018 at Marine Corps base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. U.S. Marines attend the 2018 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) tournament in Charlotte, NC, from Feb. 28 - March 3, 2018. Marines attended the event to maximize visibility of the Corps, generate awareness of leadership and enlistment opportunities within the Corps, engage influencers, attract potential applicants and foster positive relationships with the community in support of recruiting operations.
