Marines across Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton take a moment to commemorate their fathers for Father’s Day on June 14, 2018. Father’s Day is a national holiday that is celebrated by honoring fathers around the world. Sonora Smart Dodd, a child raised by a widower, went to the YMCA, local churches, shopkeepers and government officials to support her idea on June 19, 1910 Washington became the first state to celebrate Father’s Day.
