Marines take to the city of Charlotte, North Carolina for the 2018 Marine Week, September 4-9. The Marine Corps Recruiting Command planned unique engagements to interact with important components of the Charlotte Population, looking to share its message of opportunity with a diverse audience of people who in many cases had little previous exposure to Marine culture. Drill Master of Marine Barracks Washington Gunnery Sgt. Aaron Calderon is in charge of preparing Marines, such as the Silent Drill Platoon and the Official Marine Corps Color Guard, for ceremonies in the National Capital Region and around the world. He is also the subject matter expert for drill in the Marine Corps. This video was captured to recruit Marines to apply for the position of Drill Master before June 1, 2018. The Evening Parade, held every Friday evening during the summer, has become a universal symbol of the professionalism, discipline and Esprit de Corps of the United States Marines. The story of the ceremony reflects the story of Marines throughout the world. The 2018 Parade Season kicks off Friday, May 4.

The Battle Color Detachment performed during a ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., March 16. The detachment is a ceremonial unit featuring the Silent Drill Platoon, United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and Marine Corps Official Color Guard.
