On September 15, 2018, a small group of Marines from the 2D Marine Aircraft Wing provide some of the first military support operations for Hurricane Florence search and rescue teams. Base leaders encourage service members, civilian employees and family members who work and live on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, to register for the AtHoc emergency notification system. AtHoc enables base leaders to quickly notify users of emergency situations such as fires, floods or active shooters in a rapid manner, through various means of communication. British, Canadian, and Dutch service members joined with Marines with II Marine Expeditionary Force from Camp Lejeune, N.C., to perform a large-scale training raid during Bold Alligator 14 at the base’s combat town Nov. 7, 2014. Combat town served as a notional insurgent training camp, where the coalition fighting force practiced breaching buildings, clearing rooms, calling in air support, and other essential capabilities for joint operations. The training also exhibited the many training opportunities that Camp Lejeune has to offer, and promoted unit cohesion and coalition inoperability between NATO forces.
