U.S. Marines with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 20.1, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, participate in exercise Raider Fury at Camp de Carpiagne, France, Dec. 10, 2019. The Marines integrated with French Foreign Legion soldiers to increase proficiency as a crisis response force and enhance bilateral interoperability with their allies. SPMAGTF-CR-AF is deployed to conduct crisis-response and theater-security operations in Africa and promote regional stability by conducting military-to-military training exercises throughout Europe and Africa. Units from across the Marine Corps came together along the Southern Gulf Coast to participate in the Marine Forces Special Operations Command unit readiness exercise, RAVEN. Participating units executed missions beginning at the target development phase, all the way through mission execution. The training is intended to replicate conditions Marine Raiders will encounter while deployed, while maximizing opportunities for integration with conventional forces.
